I'm reading a couple threads here that mention the BCCI/Buck celebration, and thinking "where's all the other threads on this"???

...And I look at the bottom of the page, and see all the Buck [factory] people listed as "currently active users"...

And I say to myself, "Self... :p...This is a lot like going to the theater...and getting my popcorn, and sitting near the front...and waiting for the show to start...and I can feel the theater filling up behind me...and I can hear the impatient comments and the restless shifting in the seats... :)

So...Where's all the BCCI 40th threads??? How about some comments on the factory support??? Were there only three or four Forum members there??? :(

I was expecting to see a whole page of threads on the factory backed BCCI 40th Anniversary annual meeting...with pics, quotes, quips, stories from Room 437, etc... :D

Come ON!!! The Buck people are anxious to know what you guys who were there thought about the whole shebang!!!

(I tried to get out there, but although the StormTroopers allowed my pillow, they wouldn't let me take the bucket of roofing tar along...) :(

Hey Trax.. Kind of slow here tonight.. But like you I would like to here
more about PostFalls.:)
Hawkeye

All those turkey feathers and nothing to do with them.

speaking for me self and some for Haebbie
we ran our selves right to the ragged edge!!
day one Monday :
get in - no Haebbie!! oh he gets in at 4 pm Ok fast run to buck...
get lost 2 times!
find buck and then the fun starts!!
Other clubbers had been there .. one got there and had to go back due to family emergency!!
Joe gave me a privet viewing of his repair locations and a demo repairing a 110!
(most cool with a lota old school) got tour of his office but he covered his desk!! had supper secret stuff there! And his office looks like he describes it !!!

got my displays OMG time to get Haebbie! but he called and was lost in *)*&^*)&^)appous.. turns out he was with John Forsman! gets in at 11pm we chat and eat tell 3 am...
tues 7 am - go hang wit Leroy Remer all morning meeting an bs-ing with his dad and mom, real neat folks! Hijacked Leroy to go with us to hang with Pete and wild bill Cody at the plant tell lunch.. Leroy and bill got some thing cooking so we let them sneak off
lunch is hanging with Joe and some big time BCCI dudes at Mexican joint. having lived in Texas this joint left a lot to be desired to me but every one else thought it was HOT food! naw .. only a tad warm... i can cook hotter then that! next >>
lota meet and greet going on back at the plant.. took the typical tour... the dvd shows more and is only 19.95... plant closes rush hr ? well for there yea.. some more chat and dinner with some clubbers and Haebbie and i have up tell mid night chatting … he don’t like American beer … pale weak water…

to work on labels to have display ready…bed mid nite

wed 7am.. have to pick up Leroy again… at the plant it is a blur all day folks coming and going and all kinds of stuff took some one to rent a car… come back bunch of us went to cabbalas to eat … bison and elk and venison sandwiches and buggers! Yummy.
Back to plant more smoossing with brass and those what’s in charge…
Oh have to leave and get ready for dress up dinner shindig ..
lota speeches awards clapping and strong coffee!.. lot of meet and greet the food was good no beer any ware.. dinner lasted tell 9 pm … smoosing lasted tell 10:30..
me an Haebbie worked on finishing my labeling of the knives in my cases by 1:30 am!
Then Turs:

Up by 4:30 for the tv reporters filming and doing the weather at the lobby of buck!
Lots of cables to trip on … some one tripped and unplugged the camera!!! NO it was not me !! and more chat and showing off knives .... lots of knives..ran to David V and that conversation / visit .then on the classroom education on collecting... oh yes you may be able to buy a dvd set of the classes! Was going to one class and. then i saw the loooong tables of big boxes of sheaths!! was like a hound on the trail of leather sheaths for 2 bucks and fabric for a buck! got me a box full! ….
Buck had this Huge Peterbult truck that sold 911 pizza! Really good snack food ! Every one ate and went to more classes…
had to leave at closing to eat again and get ready for the show and sale back at the motel..
lota privet tables set up… was smoosing with Mike and look out !
JOE open up the tables to buy knives!!!
Now this was funny>>> every thing in a box and only a knife number and price on the box!!! It was like kids at an Easter egg hunt!! Had to open a box to see what was inside! If you did not want it you could say “got a gold etch any one need gray ghost?”
But if you paused some one else grabbed the box you wanted nest!!!
If I had not been so in to it I could have stood back and laughed tell my sides and jaw hurt!!!
Every one was trying to get their hands on a box … then trading of boxes commenced!!
I traded several boxes I got for other boxes… some times two for some time I got 2 for…
But like I said .. it was like a box of bonbons = you had to open it to see if it was a flavor you wanted!!!
They auctioned off a bunch of fund raiser knives and stuff…
I stayed late and helped Joe and his wife clean up and take stuff to his car..
Well Haebbie tried some more beer .. none he liked… I had cider… we talked again tell mid nite.
friday. up the next morning to go to more classes and I had to get all my buying done… then it was break down displays and store them then off to chucks for BBQ an lunch!

Chuck took folks for rides in his 57 convertible lots of smoosing and picture taking … tours of his house … wild turkeys at the edge of the lot looking for food..
Easy time chatting and saying good buy..
Haebbie and me stayed late again to help clean up and chat more… then we had to go…

Sat and Sunday he and I went to Montana and gold and silver mine town …drove in the sunset mountains… wonderful time then Sunday spent night waiting for airline to open at 4 am..
disclaimer : i may have events time line off some as it was all a rush and head trip!
any thing else you would like to know...

Thank you for that synopsis Dave. It is truly what I have been waiting for. I would love to have some video of the free-for-all at the company store. That trip to pOst Falls would have been more fun than Disney World. I guess I better start saving my money for #25!

But did you have fun, Dave??? ??? I bet it was GREAT... ... I wish I could have been there.... :( ... Next time...

I thought I did a pretty good job of updating everybody here on the Buck Forum every night that the 20th event was taking place. I talked about sessions and other events. I didn't post any pictures. Sorry for that. Maybe what I covered wasn't want some of you wanted to hear.

You did fine, HR, and it was appreciated!

We just love pictures, so we were probably expecting more on the photographic front from others. Either way, any info is better than no info.

I thought I did a pretty good job of updating everybody here...

I thought you did too...:thumbup:

But the High Command seems to be looking for feedback from the attendees...All of them...And I think it's obvious that any future events will depend on how this one was received... ;)

Were you there??? Start a thread (lots of threads!)...How was the airline? Rentals? Cabs? Best Western or Holiday Inn??? The food??? The people of Post Falls? Was the convention hall nice? Big Enough? How about the weather???

Did the local newspapers and TV stations (even radio) cover the event??? How was their coverage? Any obvious bias???

Did Buck advertise the event? Did the BCCI??? Were there any celebrities? Any other knife world notables?

How about the knife media? Was Blade Magazine, Knife World, etc there? (Did anyone tell them?)

Your overall impressions of the trip itself? Was it worth the cost to you? What was your approximate cost?

Were there any other attractions in Post Falls? Any other events going on? Did you attend? Did you enjoy them?

Lots of questions...

And people at the Top want to know... :D

So...Start another thread...the more the better... ;)

Since this was a Buck Collectors Club Inc kind of event, would all those other people have been invited?? Just curious is all....

I don't know about being invited...but I would think that some of the knife community people would be BCCI members...and probably even some high exposure people from the sports or entertainment segments...Now, *I* don't know them, but sure as grass is green, 334dave would have met them... :D:thumbup:

trax ...i gots a little brain and it has holes and leaks!:(
some one from a knife mag was there and he interviewed
Habbie for a good while... :)
i was suprised that i heard of no one from Blade Mag!!! :thumbdn:
local coverage was great with the TV show ...
no i did not hear of any sports figures or other famous folks..
i met soo many great folks i can not recall all of them..:foot:
i had many, and i mean a LOT, of folks come up and ask were they could get a drink!
and then say don't you have a 'jar' hidden some place close?:D
i was going to take some ... both the rust remover and the light stuff..
the air line said:if luggage got surched and it was found i would be arrested..

there were a lot of old time buck dealers there who were members of the bcci..
my impression was that most of the early charter members were buck dealers!
i talked with several the dealt with Al when they started..

there was a lot of meeting and greeting going on... most the folks i knew were from Atlanta show or formites!
many recognized me from the sharpening pict and from the news let
i learned that my displays dont score high with judges as i have no theme and my labeling is not the best..
now some displays were Fantastic!!
most did not have a lot of knives in their cases!!!
they did a few very very well -
were as mine is 'shock and awe' with so many close together...
the dinner was a long but nice one for having so many awards..
speeches were good and easy to listen to ..
the table i was at did not have hardly any conversation at all :(
but some tables had lively conversations going
but once seated ... oh well would not be polite to change ya know..
picts ?
well i have a bunch from Haebbie and some of mine but have not posted thm to a photo bucket as yet..
i have not heard from Haebbie so i will work on posting some this weekend..
it was fun but verrrrrrry bussssssssy ... most of us jest did not have time to do a lot... buck did a bunch to make it easy...
i feel to add another day... like start on Tuesday morning instead of wed nite dinner would be better..
it is my understanding that a 3 set of DVDs on all the class will be available some time soon.. they will be worth it !!
and there are underground picts of me acting up here and there at the picnic..

all in all it was every bit as exciting as my first bcci show in atlanta!!
it is the grand ones that make it nice to be at the smaller ones!!

they are wanting to improve the attendance on the blade west show..
and i hope they do.. but
i would like to see the bcci start showing at dallas speart of steel show which is orgionized by the same man that got the atlanta blade show going..

but that is in the future maby... right now the next bcci sanction show is in lakecity fla.. early next year!
will post info on that as it gets close..
