Very cool. I've been thinking about a small satchel for carrying a water bottle and a lunch on hikes. Maybe I'll do a net instead. Cheap and a good source of cordage/tinder. Plus, I've always liked being different. Now to practice. .:D

In addition to the virtues mentioned above, net making is also a very efficient use of material compared to other techniques, such as crocheting, knitting or weaving. It is also a very quick method to make bags.

Hey Tony (asemery), good to see you in here again. Thought I would add my take on it.

I encourage everyone who has even a passing interest in net making to give it a try. It's really quite easy, once you get started.

And I thought my 2 1/2 year old droid was old... :D

Looks interesting. I've been looking for some more projects for all the paracord I have around.

Thank you. You were the one who inspired with your posting at the net making forum http://pineapple.myfunforum.org/index.php?c=7.

I hope you will give it a try. Here's how I did it:
I used the grommet start http://pineapple.myfunforum.org/about1715.html adjusted to fit my water bottle. After 6 rows I finished it the same way I finished the modification to the net bag discussed here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1038769-Net-Bag-for-Beginning-Netmakers
Made the cell phone carrier the same basic way.

I used jute twine for both nets

Cheers, Tony
