Here is one I have been playing with recently as a compact water bottle.

I work at a medical equipment company and recently had to get rid of some rebreather oxygen masks. This particular style has a fairly heavy plastic bag that will hold about 12 ounces.

It might be good for alternative to the condom in a psk as it is more durable. The ones I have been checking out are made by Salter Labs.

If you know some who works in hospital or durable medical equipment supplier ask them about getting you a couple. The added bonus is tha you can always use the tubing for something else.

Platypus and Nalgene both make some excellent collapsible canteens. The Nalgene even has a large mouth.

For the PSK I started using the the McCormiks "bag and season" oven baking bags. Already folded small, tough, and hold a lot.

if you have the room the platys in different sizes won't disappoint

most PSK are on the small side- the one quart ones in the link above are the ones I'm using, they are sturdy (not bombproof, but sturdy)- his Aqua- Pouch container is sturdier, but more volume- the quart ones will fit in all but the tiniest kits

I have a thread floating around on how to carry the quart ones (several good ideas in it)- the Aqua pouches have built in grommets

I'm a big fan of the Platypus bottles. They are very durable and roll up into a compact package. They can also stand up on their own when full; a lot of improvised containers can't do this. I've only ever had one fail in the many years I've used them, and it was one that I repeatedly half-filled and froze almost daily during one summer.

Stay sharp,
