I have 2 water reservoirs that have damage to them (Holes, seals leak, etc..)

I have a new working model, but I would like to fix these up as backups. I thought there was a repair kit put out by camelbak, but I must have been seeing things. I can't seem to find it anywhere.

What could I use to repair these holes/leaks? I was thinking of a food grade (water grade) patch.. I just can't seem to find anything that specifies food capable.

Anyone have any ideas? or are these both trash?

Thanks

Hi All-

Clean, drinkable water is too important to take chances with a reservoir that could spring a leak without notice. This situation is especially critical if you're up in the mountains or in extremely hot conditions. If one is day-hiking around Manhattan with plenty of replenishment resources, it's not a big deal.

My opinion is that a brand-new, factory-tested replacement reservoir will run you $22.00 - $25.00 dollars, depending on capacity. Discretionary income and budgets may vary, but that is cheap insurance to my mind for most "rural" situations when a Camelbak will be utilized.

Thanks for the link to the patches. Unless someone comes up with a better idea, thats what I'll go with.

Blue Jays- Point VERY well taken. I have a reservoir that I will use for treks. I was planning on using these for Fishing trips locally.... Places where its just convienent.. Not necessary.
