Hi Guys,

I have a quality 6000 grt Japanese waterstone about 3 by 8 inches that I am
not using. Free for the shipping costs. I also will send the little stone that
helps make the slurry for the big one. It is basically new.

Just a way of giving back to the forum. I am new to slip
joints and have learned so much from you guys.

PS It has only been used on a Sebenza so it is still "pure". :)

First I'll take it gets it.

dang, winner before i even noticed it
would have been curious, never used a japanese water stone, would have been cool to see how it was different from a normal whetstone

ah well, congrats Richard J!

i never noticed this was traditional folders and fixed blades. since i dont post in here much go ahead and give it to rsmith_77 if he wants it. piney12, i'll still sharpen some knives for you free. just pay to get them to me and back :D

i was going to give the stone to a friends son and teach him how to sharpen on a waterstone but i can fix him up with something else.

Why feel guilty? You give TONS to this forum posting in the traditional section or not. I don't use paper wheels, nor have I read your threads, but I know you give a lot to this forum. Not everyone is willing to give up their secrets. IMO, it couldn't go to a better home. On the other hand, I am not trying to tell anyone what to do here.

Just giving an outside perspective from a guy that doesn't even prefer paper wheels :D

i think it would be a better idea to start him out on sandpaper on glass since he has never sharpened on a good stone yet. once he masters that i might get him a cheap waterstone. i would teach him how to sharpen on the wheels but he's all thumbs and has the attention span of a month old pup which is a bad combination :D

If that is the case and you tried to teach him the wheels, he would actually have only thumbs in short order. :D

I'll take #168, thanks for the chance! :D

Oh wait, I'm posting in Traditional...nm ;)

Is there a way I can private message the two reluctant winners so we can decide what to do.?

Richard J thanks for the free sharpening offer but I'm a paper wheel guy myself thus no need for the water stone.

no no, he won, fair and square
he has a plan for it (involving someone's kid)

besides i am out of work and not even sure what it would cost to pay shipping at this time
i was merely bemoaning the fact that it was grabbed up so quickly, like before i noticed it :p
no worries, no bad feelings, just congrats to Richard J :D

This is a very generous giveaway, thank you. I'd like to be included. I choose 168, thanks.

Edit: Aw, dang it. I see somebody already chose 168. I'll take 344 instead, thanks again.
