I know this has been a thread in the past.
I wanted to know if there is a wallet that is not only waterproof i.e. made of some type of tough vinyl/whatever but more importantly WATER TIGHT -- that does not let any water IN!

I am currently looking at the Aquapak - key holder size
and the
PakPak waterproof wallet

Anybody have these or know of these

Thanks

Take your favorite everyday wallet and place it in a zip lock. :D

At least thats what I do. If the stuff is really important, I put it inside two ziplocks. :p

If you know ahead of time this works great. If you could be under water and you wouldn't know ahead of time maybe this won't work for you. I always have zip locks in my truck so I can grab them any time.

FWIW,
KR

I LOVE aquapacs and yes I have the Cell-Phone/Keys size. You can actually talk though the plastic and work the keys of a cell phone under water if you wish. I also LOVE AlokSaks!

I found a link for Aquapac with a "c". Aquapak with a "k" is something completely different.

The Pakpak looks interesting. Both systems seem expensive, but I've never handled them so I can't comment on their quality.

I haven't used any of those products, but I can't see how they could perform any better than a pair of zipped, zip lock bags--one inside the other.

I got one from a camping shop. It was heavy, clear vinyl with three rows of ziplock type seals and then folded over twice before being secured with velcro. Had a lanyard to put round your neck, but I tied it to my trunks tie and stuffed it inside my swimming trunks. Works fine when swimming.

Two ziplock bags will work. A little water will get through the corners of the first bag but won't penetrate the second. It won't work for long unless you keep replacing the bags.

Most of the waterproof wallets cost very little more, last a long time, and there's only one closure to keep opening and closing every time you use it.

I imagine two ziplocks will work. Definitely agree that some water will get past the first, that's been my experience. I just went on vacation, and put my wallet in an Aloksak, and put that inside a ziplock. Ziplock leaked pretty good, Aloksak didn't, so I ditched the ziplock and just used the Aloksak the rest of the vacation. Neither ocean nor pool water got through, not a drop. I'm really happy with how well it worked.
