I used plaing old shoe polish (I retinted the brown that had faded), but any shoe waterproofing will work. Of course, I don't mind trying different stuff for fun to see if it works. i may be making others cringe with my ideas. Oh well.....
May I suggest that you do a Google search using as the parameters
"Wilson Leather Protector" (use the quote marks.)
Should you happen to live through the application, you might find that the leather handle has softened up a bit. This is not a good thing. You need to use a leather protector that doesn't soften leather such as 'Sno-Seal,' regular shoe polish, or bee's wax.
