Ty.

Hi,
How long does it take to dry out? Are you soaking it every day?
Does the stone seem to cut slower than when new?

If I use my $1 stone once or more times per day,
its not as thirsty as when I leave it alone for a week or more
but when new was much much much thirstier,
before I loaded it with dishsoap and rust :)

So it could be your stone is not completely drying out cause you use frequently,
Or it could be the coarse side got loaded with swarf from sharpening many knives over the years, so its holding less air :)

So as long as its cutting well enough and its flat,
and not starting to mold/algea ,
then no bubbles no problem :)

Nothing is wrong. Your stone was probably very dry when new. Now, even when your stone no longer feels damp it retains some moisture. So now it doesn't take as long to get saturated.
Let it dry for 6 months and it will take a long time before the bubbles stop.

I have that same stone. Works well with about a 10-15 minute soak. Takes about a week to fully dry out to the touch between uses, so it may still be retaining some water inside. Nothing to worry about.

No the stone it still works fine when i sharpen,i just was curious to know why that is happening.I don't use it so much only when my knives are really dull otherwise i use higher stones. Thank you all.

One thing to keep in mind is storage of water stones, a friend, now past away and a very early age, Paul Champagne , told a story once of having left his water stones in his garage...unheated garage ;) and they fractured from freezing, so be sure not to leave them where the temp gets below 32degrees F or you will have a nice collection of small stones :)
