so freaking cool!! I dig the thatched hut vid too, for a shorter-term shelter

that is just too cool!!! Thanks for the video! I like how it shows the steps for building up the clay structure.

He definitely knows his craft for sure. One of the better videos I've seen online!

He did all that with a rock and some sticks. Makes me feel like when I bring 2 folders, multi-tool, small fixed blade, large fixed blade, hatchet, and folding saw with me, its almost over-kill.

Skills are so important to practice. If we lost our gear through accident or mishap, we can still make it out. I often tell people you can do 99% of what you need to survive without a knife. It's meant to emphasize skills.

That was an absolutely awesome video...that kid is pretty darn talented and the video was actually well done to catalog his efforts and improvements. I do agree, as much as most of us love knives and consider them integrate parts of our body, skill and knowledge are vastly more important and one's imagination, improvisation and perseverance can really rise above the need of modern tools. That was a perfect example. Still, I don't discount the amount of effort that took and 15 minute video doesn't capture the hundreds of hours of effort and I suspect a little failure at times. A great example that skill and knowledge are more important than kit...thanks Brian!

I believe he stated that the build took 6 months, during his intermittent visits to the site.

Very cool. Thanks for posting!

I'd seen a few friends on social media reposting this that aren't really into the outdoors even, but was sped up for peoples attention spans. Glad to see the other videos he has up too. I wish more youtube warriors were as capable.

Truth that patience is indeed a virtue.
