wave clip modification

I noticed that it can be difficult to get a grip on my commander to start the draw with the wave. As a result, I jury rigged a little ball towards the end of the clip, which dramatically improved the ability to grip it and initiate the wave. Unfortunately, my set-up was only temporary, and the ball came off.

Has anyone had any luck with similar modifications? Maybe a small curve on the outer side of the clip would work.

I can't suggest a mechanical fix, but I had trouble doing the wave consistently until someone here, and I can't remember who, recommended the following. Let your index finger also enter your pocket riding along the back of the knife. With your thumb on the side of the scale and your index finger on the back of the knife, you'll have quite a bit more control of the wave.
