Changed my mind on a rebar and got the wave + for my first Leatherman.

Reeeeeeaaaaaaallllly liking it so far. Will also get a bit kit, extension etc.

Two questions:

1. Cannot find the lanyard hole, is this another IQ test I failed?? What's the secret, listed as having a lanyard hole.

2. What are the full range of accessories available aftermarket by Leatherman or third party.

Thanks.

Open the saw. Look inside and see the little ring? Put a small screwdriver or whatever inside and push firmly so it pops out.

Got it, thank you sir.

Also geez Leatherman, was that little hidden gem supposed to be obvious?? No mention of it in the instructions page.

Also I see the Leatherman website sells it with the pocket clip, why would you buy it if it's built in??

Look like it 😁

It is on most product images I can find and clearly listed under the features tab on the leatherman website.

As for accessories, google is your friend. All the official leatherman ones are on their webpage. Lots of other options and mods out there on the internet.

I did see the images but it is far from obvious how to access it. I doubt many first time users would think to look under the saw blade, insert a micro screw driver to activate the lanyard hole into existence.....or maybe they do :-(

I'm glad they're not trying to claim the lanyard hole as a feature.
I have never used the lanyard hole on a multitool and probably never will, so I'm very glad you can store them away and forget they're even there.

I especially like that I can do this on the leatherman micra and squirt which I'd never put on my keys.

Well, I had never went looking for the lanyard hole on my wave, until now. Found it quite easily and got it out using the nail file on a SAK classic. Took no time and very little thought. Sorry you found it difficult but glad you got it sorted

Funny, a "feature" is exactly what leatherman claims about the lanyard hole!

That said, I'm also glad they tuck out of the way and I never have to think about them since I personally have no use for one.

Their claim that every feature on the Wave is one-hand operable is also a bit of a stretch, in my opinion. The outer tools, certainly, but the inner tools? I just tried opening some of them with one hand and succeeded, but it was so awkward that I could have easily dropped the tool.

.....I guess that's what the lanyard ring is for!

If I am going to use a lanyard, I would just use the detachable one. A quick push on the lock releases it, so you can leave the lanyard attached and remove the tool for use.

Mostly I just keep everything in the pouch.

The sheath came with the tool. The clip and lanyard came separately, as did the bits. They all fit perfectly in the molle compatible sheath.
That's not the sheath that came with mine and mine came in an original Leatherman box.

No big deal I will order an aftermarket sheath with internal and side pockets for bits, bit extension and a torch.

I just assumed that since the OP had no clue where it was that it likely wasn't listed on the tools packaging or in the page they include which tells you about the various features they offer on their multitools.
They still do that right ?

Check out Skinth sheaths on line. They have many options and are built to last forever. They are not cheap, and they are built-to-order, so you might wait a few weeks to get one. For me, it was well worth the wait; I love mine! T-A

Descriptions and instructions only help if people choose to look at them...
