Does repeatedly using the wave feature to snap open the knives inherently more wearing to the stop pin/liner lock, or are the knives with this feature designed specially to withstand the greater opening force on a regular basis?

I didn't used to be, but I have recently started becoming interested in the Emerson wave feature. Maybe on a mini-Commander??? Ah, if only I could afford it yet. Just when I think I've got all the knives I need...:)

unlike a lot of other knives out there, Emerson's pins are solid, and not hollow. I've waved my commander hunreds and hundreds of time, there's nothing wrong with it. when Emerson says "#1 hard use knives in the world" he means it. these knives are built like a tank. the only think you would need to do is tighten the pivot screw once in a while

Dont worrie about the Mini Commander, worrie about the durability of your pants!!!! I have put a few holes in several sets of pants from repeated wave practice.

Youll love it man.

maximus- a few layers of teflon tape around the pivot screw will help that loosening problem.

i tried locktight, but that didn't seem to hold. teflon tape is holding up well so far though :)
