Hey all I’m getting another endura I’ve always had the ffg non waved version, how is the waved version? Does it open how it supposed to consistently? Is the Sabre grind good? It’s for an edc knife thanks.

While neither is my current go to, I carry my waved Endura more than my non waved.

I say get the waved version. Yes it is true that the ffg version is a slicier blade; however the sabre grind is still a very capable cutter and has a much stouter tip.

The wave works very well just as advertised and with a little practice you can get it to work 99.9% of the time. If you ever feel like drawing the knife without waving it just turn the knife abit as you draw it or put a finger over the spine of the knife as you draw it.

The endura is a legendary knife but imho the wave takes it to a whole other level.

Here’s some eye candy to help urge you to make the eight decision.

I know you’ll make the right choice.

I know you're asking about the Endura, but I just wanted to chime in that I very recently got a waved Delica that I just love. The wave feature works great, and the saber ground blade seems much stouter than my FFG versions. The deep blue FRN handle is very attractive as well.

I definitely regret waiting so long to get one and am currently considering a waved Endura to go with it.

Have you seen the wise men fang and signet ring? Cool stuff when it comes to waving an Endura or Delica. (or Para 2/3 manix etc)

I had one on my waved Delica. Very cool but it sort of wasn’t very well planned out. With your finger through the ring it kind of made the knife feel awkward to grip.

Lapedog, good feedback, I have been considering the signet ring for the Delica, but don't want to go to the installation trouble if its not a useful upgrade.

Still dig the look tho, and I just got a PM2 with one installed on it that I'm really liking.

With your pinky finger through the ring its not so bad although it kind of positions the blade far away from your hand even if you have fairly large hands like me.

The real issue is when you put your pointer through it karambit style. Not only does it place the blade far from your closed fist but it causes the knife to jut out the bottom of your hand at a very awkward angle.

I find the Spyderco version of the wave works better for me than any other maker. I have both the Endura and Delica versions and both are great.

The wave does indeed work well.

Those signet rings are interesting ideas. Im just not a fan of advertising what you’re carrying with the ring sticking out of your pocket. Same deal with the karambits.

That said, I’ve got a hankering for another karambit now for some reason. I like that blacked out Karahawk.

Wave. No question. I have, like many of you, dozens of knives in many different price categories. I carry a waved Endura more than any other. I’ve been wishing for an upgraded steel for years, though VG10 has never disappointed me. Here are three of mine:

If it is for SD only then get the wave. Otherwise the hole is more than fast enough and I would always take the standard blade shape and ffg over the saber grind and spear point of the waved version.

SD only: waved version

Regular carry: standard version

If it opens bottles I might come around to the idea. I think I open bottles at least as often as I cut stuff.

I can attest that it works pretty well on beer bottles. Saved from having to hunt a bottle opener the other day.
