WAVE Tool adaptor

I've got a Leatherman Supertool with the tool adaptor. I've alos got two Waves and have been having a very hard time finding the adaptor for them. I recently picked up another of the original adaptors at a good price. Now I've only seen pictures of the Wave adaptor, never handled one in person but it looks tome like the only difference is the little perpendicular tab on the original. My question is,if I cut off the tab and file the surface smooth will it work on the Wave?

I'm not sure that filing the tab would work. You can get the Wave adapter at Knifecenter.com for $22.95. Look at the picture there. You'll see more of a difference than the tab. I think this might be a better option that filing your Wave.

I've had both and they are the same except for the tab. Although I would still buy the tool adaptor for the wave and save yourself the trouble.
