waved CQC-7A?

Will there ever be such a thing? I like the idea of the wave on the CQC-7, I'm just, I confess, not such a big fan of one side of the blade being completely flat. I have far more use for a utility knife than for a combat knife, and the -7A fits both roles very, very well.

Have there been previous posts on this before? Am I the only one?

You could allways grind your own. Do a search someone a whil;e ago gave instructions. I just did mine with a dremel about 8 months ago or so.

Nothing wrong with the "B." I already have one and like it very much.

It's my personal opinion that the "A" would be more versatile for everyday utility uses than the "B." In addition to other chores, the "B" can pare and peel fruit/snacks very nicely; however, I feel that an "A" would additionally be able to slice same items more effectively. (I'm right-handed). It's also another reason--okay, chief reason--for me to buy another Emerson.

Yeah, I could use another make of knife for those tame cutting tasks but it would be nice to have the option of carrying an Emerson for that. I hope that makes sense.

At the risk of going against conventional (?) wisdom, in my own limited experience, the spear point does a better job of doing exactly what a tanto point is supposed to do. Further, the spear point is actually closer to that of a traditional "tanto" knife. The so-called "tanto" points we see today are actually copied from swords, and were used for a totally different purpose.

I recently asked if there were any plans to make a Mini CQC7-A with the wave feature, and was told that it was considered, but right now they were not willing to undergo the huge costs in setting up the tooling to do so. They didn't rule it out for the future.

BillinP, not to worry--I believe a number of us are fans of the "A" blade. I like the spearpoint design on my Specwar but wish it was also available on a smaller knife (like the CQC-7) for casual carry. I understand the economics of running a business and further understand why Emerson cannot manufacture every little variation that may have only limited appeal. As such, we can only hope and lie in wait until that fateful day when the "waved" CQC-7A becomes available.

Edit: Oops, left off the most important ("waved") part.
