Waved Delica and Endura Owners, as per the laws of "the people's republic of new york" any knife that can be flicked out is considered a a gravity knife, and through some perverted form of syllogism, becomes an illegal "deadly" weapon, so technically, the delica is an illegal knife. I was wondering if is then possible to tighten the pivot so that you cannot deploy it by flicking the thumbhole, but can be opened with the wave. Is this possible?

Thanks

Basic rule of thumb, dont clip it, dont make it visible, dont carry in new york. new york hates knives

The problem is that, since you won't legally be able to carry it clipped in your pocket (unless it's completely covered), the wave function would be pretty difficult to use properly as it is.

I hate the People's Republic of New York... I find it Ironic that the Statue of Liberty resides in New York. If you are upstate, it won't matter as much. However, if you venture farther South, you might have a problem. Honestly, you are better off trying to conceal a large fixed blade then a small 2.5 inch knife that you can "flick" open. (Sarcasm)

I think that statue is in New Jersey.

I haven't tried anything like that with my waved endura so I can't help but I do feel for your situation with the carry law. If it were me I am afraid that law would make me a criminal!

Simple solution: move out of The People's Republic of New York. Barring that, tuck it in your pocket and don't pull it out when someone nearby is likely to freak out. I think that if you tightened the pivot enough that you couldn't open it with the thumbhole it would make it very difficult to wave it open as well.

Good luck, and sorry that your state has oppressive laws. :(

From what little I know of NY knife laws, and it's repeated in this thread, they sound terrible. If I lived there, I'd carry a smaller fixed blade that I could get to quickly. That would be superior to any folder for self-defense purposes anyway. Obviously the best defensive option by far is a concealed firearm, but I don't know if that's an option for you.
