Wondering if anyone has "waved" a large BM Griptilian with the sheepsfoot blade (has hole instead of thumb studs)? And if anyone has, how did it work out? And any pictures if available.

BM's with the Axis lock open so easily and smoothy. If one could be "waved", it would seem as if it would open very easily. I have one that's been just sitting around for years and I thought I might try a conversion.

The BM axis lock knives I have Waved have all been very easy to operate. They are in my opinion the best Waved knives out there including factory Waved ones.

So far I've Waved, the HK34 (x 2), the HK29, the BM 420 Resistor (several of the 420s actually) and more Spydercos than I could count among others.

Generally you look for enough room above the body when the blade is closed. On some depending on the curvature of the body they can work well even if the blade doesn't have a typical hump. I have a list of Wave candidate blades in the link to my homepage in my profile under the. "I now have permission to do Wave mods thread."

I don't believe your knife is in there but I am not as familar with that one. I vaquely recall looking at it before though and it seems to me that the writing on the blade would have to be wiped or the Butterfly or both. I just don't remember exactly.

The easiest and ugliest way to achieve a waved Griptilian is to just use a zip tie. It ain't pretty, but it works really well. You pull the zip tie tight on the outer edge of the hole, cut off the excess, and let the "knot" grab your pocket. It's one of those little tricks that has been floating around for a while, I don't know who thought of it first so I cannot give credit.
