this may be a dumb question but how does the waved knives work? how well do they work? and I think that they are cool looking so where can I get one for the best price?

never mind to the last part of the question knifecenter has them in stock for $51, but I would like to know how and how well they work

They work with spyder majic and they work really well. The lil' hook thingie catches yer pocket and opens the knife as you draw.

well I've been considering this knife all night and I think that I just might order one now I just have to think of a excuse to tell the wife (I just bought a zdp delica a week ago) oh well she will live I guess.

But will YOU survive? That's the important question;)

I know I will survive, my fingers might not until I get the idea of waving down. That's why they sell band-aids and neosporene

Unless you drop the knife, you are pretty safe from cuts using the wave...it isn't like opening a double bladed balisong after all.;)

The wave takes a little practice. Once you get it down it becomes second nature like the sheet that comes with the knife says. I can't explain it too well but while you are pulling the knife out you kind of have you pull it back also. It is pretty safe and you probably won't cut yourself from the wave. I always cut myself closing it.

Here are my pictures of it: http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22800

On the Emerson website there is a video that shows how the wave feature works. The wave feature is patented by Emerson.

Do like I did...don't tell her! Yeah, mine figured it out, but by then it was too late...bwahhahaha!

The wave on the Endura and the Delica is much bigger than the wave that is on the Emerson Commander, and catches on your pocket much easier. You should also learn how to go easy on your pants pockets and pull out the knife without waving it as well! Saves on wardrobe expenses!

I don't understand how you can't get it on your first try. It might have something to do with jeans. I mostly wear basketball shorts and all I have to do is pull it from my pocket and it opens; no strategy required.

It does. Basketball shorts you just have to pull it out. Jeans it takes some technique but its much more fun with jeans...easier to clip and cleaner waving instead of using those loose athletic shorts.
