Amici,
Does anyone in the year 2013 still prefer the CQC 7 waveless models still floating about over the waved ones? Not wanting to necropost a possible old thread, Just thought I'd ask, since for me, although I think the wave is cool and could come in handy for certain situations, I'm starting to return to my waveless models specifically the CQC 7 since I don't need it popping out right outta the gate and that's a big IF taking into consideration the type of pants and the fact that I'm a southpaw with seems to be a hindrance.

But if you spend the $$ and convert it for SP carry, it works fine for the most part.

Cheers,
Serge

My A-100 and 7b are my most carried models. I wear slacks to work so one goes in my waistband. When im off and wearing jeans a waved model goes in the pocket but whenever im stuck with waistband carry its gonna be a non waved model for me.

I still like the wave. I find it the quickest way to open a folder.

Waved but I have never had a non waved emerson and today found myself wondering what my super roadhouse would be like waveless.

Don't like the wave because I don't like pocket clips. My MY2000 7b is my favorite Emerson because I can carry it in a BM
soft sheath on my belt.

My vote will always go to waved Emersons. That is one of the reasons I love using them for work and EDC. When I need it I can wave it out and use it. Its just an easier system for me personally. Its funny because when I carry other knives and pull them out I sometimes pause and wonder why they aren't already open and ready to use...

Ha ha I do the same thing!

I love waved Emersons but I do like the clean look of non-waved emersons. In fact, I have a a BM Variant of the Super-7 my way and looks good w/o a wave! Cant wait to get it!

I have waved and not waved Emersons, and I use the non wave version more. I think they have a cleaner look to them. I like the feature and use it, but just not all the time.

I, too, like the wave. But, I know there will be a CQC-6 in my future, and I want that to be waveless, mostly for historical and aesthetic purposes.

I think WITH the wave Emerson has an edge on all other folders for what I need it to do. WITHOUT the wave there are a dozen different companies that could equally well vie for my business.

Same here. If I do buy another brand I find myself trying to figure out how to wave it without making it look ugly. There's a reason people put zip ties in Spydercos and it's not aesthetics.
