Would it be possible or adviseable to put several coats of carnuba wax on the handles of the Sebenza to protect them?

Would that make is slippery?

I think most people would agree that the "pocket patina" is something we all like. If you're worried about it getting scratched it might be better to leave it in a display case or a safe, or just get a belt sheath or pouch for it.

Maybe on the plains, but I saw a post from Anne explaining that the engraved color fades when obscured by oils.

On the woods, it might be a real benefit. But there probably aren't many woodside owners who actually carry their Sebenzas.

I am not sure what benefit would be gained and, especially if the hand holding the knife came into contact with moisture, it would be pretty slippery!
