That was a good article. I didn't know about about the AK12! Looks like I'm going to have to sell some knives. Gongrats on the SKS.
 
I had no idea that AKs were that big a seller. I mean I have a few but the fact that more are sold to US citizens than the militaries in countries that issue them as their main battle rifle is amazing.

Number 1 selling rifle in the world..I can't understand why anyone would want a 350 yard rifle that shoots 12' groups.
I prefer something with a little more reach and sub moa groups.
 
If your shooting 12' groups at 350 yards your doing it wrong. Using just the irons I can shrink that down a whole whole lot.
 
Cool rifle...damn near will fire under any conditions, almost amazing what I've seen it been put through or into and it still fires reliably.

As far as all the guns we have here in the US? Damn good thing I say....more the better. Keeps the people who think that they are in charge in line and creates a edge of fear if they forget who they are working for.

I have no problems with Zastava AKs, there are some out there that are quality.

It's the Chinese and Egyptians that well.........

Oh Matt, the old tale about AKs always working, well, that's a BS story, like Glock. I'll never forget the AK trigger group that I had to stick on a grinder to get it to work right :D

The reason is because there are embargos now on the SKS. Good luck finding a good SKS for under $300!!
I have an AR 15 that shoot 7.62x39!!!!

with an AK and forward rear leaf sight and standard AK front post?

Id be pretty happy with myself if I could keep it in +/-6" at 350 yds with iron sight on my VEPR. I'm sure the rifle can do better but for me they don't have ideal irons at all.

A thinner front post and rear aperture would easily cut my groups in half, if not even more.

Back when I shot GSSF I took Tavist for about a week before the matches and it made a HUGE difference. I rub my eyes too much, especially when I'm tired, and it definitely blurs my vision
 
I got this a while back when I thought that an AR wouldn't function and a 5.56 couldnt kill anything bigger than yotes.

Built this about a year ago and the AK has just been collecting dust ever since, won't get rid of it though cause I got plenty of ammo for it.

I have an SKS-m and I love it...all the benefits of 7.62x39 ammo and AK magazines with better shot groups in a 16 3/4" barrel package. I am shooting with a foreward eye relief 8x scout scope and coyote finish. No problems with sub 3" @ 400'....if I can see it. An AK is what it is. Take it or leave it.

I looked at this thread cause I thought it was about AK swords.....lol
