She wants a watch, but is a reverse snob and turned down my late Mother's Rolex. 1st because it was gold and second, because it was a Rolex.

Never mind that mine has been chugging along for over 25 yrs, and my Dad's for over 45.

Criteria: Stainless steel, case and bracelet. Self winding, water resistant or proof. Perhaps a bit smaller than a Submariner, but larger than most womens watches. Round with white or light face, black or dark hands.

She's 55 and doesn't always have her glasses on. LOL

Price in the Busse range, but would prefer the plain GW to the ASHI LE price. LOL

Russian? She does love Hillary. LOL

Any suggestions, links, forums, whatever would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Rob

If she wants mechanical, Seiko Automatic is a solid choice. There are tons of variations and they work great at a reasonable price. All she has to do is choose a color scheme.

I have also had good luck with my Citizen Eco-Drive, but it is hardly a women's watch:

The Omegas are a bit pricey. LOL

The Citizens though look nice. She likes big and chunky. I'm going to check further into that Eco Drive and into the Seikos.

A med size dive watch would be perfect. A bit smaller than the Submariner would fill the bill. About 1 1/4" across rather than the 1 1/2" of the Submariner.

Thanks!

Take a look at Oris. Some good looking stuff there. I don't have one, but they seem to be a good value.

How about we move this to Gadgets & Gear?

get her an omega constellation or a Rado, women love both and both have a great rep.

My wife had very similar wants for her new watch. Lots of searching led me to this watch. It met all of her requirements and she likes it a bunch. Sandoz ladies/boys SS auto. 100M water resistant.
