Hey all.
Recently I decided I wanted a high speed/low drag paracord watch band for my Gshock watch. I wear a Citizen Ecodrive World Time model most of the time, but at work and in the woods I wear my Gshock. It is a GA201-1A if anyone cares... It does everything I've ever wanted or needed a watch to do in the environs I wear it, so no complaints to Casio. I also have a Cammenga wrist compass which has tritium vials built into it for GITD coolness. I wanted the two tied to each other, and a fairly wide band as I have a big wrist (8.5" around) and the watch casts a large shadow on its own. So a wide weave would look best. Now, I tinker with paracord as does almost everyone in these forums these days, but I just wanted it done right the first time by someone who does a lot of paracord stuff. Google searching landed me at Knotty Dan's. I saw some other offerings I liked, Trilotac (who seems to have gone into business doing just paracord bracelets I gather...) for one and a handful of others. But some of the prices for something that I may tear down someday to use the cord seemed insane. And some seemingly sacrifice the amount of cord they could have in the end product just for the sake of looks. I.e. bespoke billet adapters are cool, but take away nearly 10' of useful cord length to do so. I prefer as much running length as possible, again considering this is supposed to be a survival tool.
I also wanted a thin blue line motif but wasn't sure how well that would work with the double cobra weave I wanted.
Well, here is the end result. Dan does the work right on your watch so you have to send it to him. But he does it quickly and gets it back to you in a short amount of time considering the work that is done. I'm open to thoughts. I know this type of stuff isn't everyone's cup of tea... But I am absolutely beyond pleased with the end result.
I have no arrangements with Dan. He doesn't know I'm posting this, or have any agreements etc in place. Just proud of a new purchase, and didn't really know where else to show it off. Thought the crowd over here might like a look.
Cheers!
