Went to my knife pile today & pulled out a Hendrix Hunter with ivory Micarta scales to use - forgotten how nice it was & a super cutter/slicer - thin hollow grind with great edge really cuts - was very reasonably priced. He was a student of the Master George Herron and learned very well - my question is I haven't heard or seen anything of his for quite a while and was wondering if anybody had any info on him lately & contact info. Was incredibly nice guy & enjoyed talking to him years ago - appreciate if anyone has info.

Thanks,
Bill :)

I have one of Waynes knives myself. Last I saw, he was doing fine and turning out some of the most resonably priced customs that could be found. Both Wayne and his knives can't be beat.

Got to agree with both of you. Great knives and even a better person to get to know. I spoke with him for a few minutes at Blade.
Nice pick-up Bill.

Thanks for the replies & info - you put something aside & kind of forget about it, then one day you rediscover it & realize just how nice it is - Wayne's knife was like that - went to his site & he is still offering amazing quality & value for a great price.

I have several Hendrix knives and agree they are nice. But I have ordered some from him over 2 years ago. He doesn't confirm my orders and doesn't respond to my email. If he is too busy to do this, he should state this on his website. I have no way of knowing if he intends to fill my orders or not.

Wayne has not responded to his website requests in years. It has been 3 or 4 years ago I did the same thing. You may want to make it to a show...that's the best way to pick up a knife from Wayne. Besides the website does not reflect the knives he is currently offering. Some have been discontinued and others added.

I talked to Wayne at Blade and bought 5 knives... I also talked to him about future orders. Wayne told me to call for orders. He said he can not handle the volume of e-mail. He said he can take calls, and will take orders that way.

Wayne's knives are awesome. I was turned onto them by my friend Mike Snody. I picked one up recently after admiring one that Mike had and I really like it. Its amazing how he turns them out so quickly and they look so perfect. If you have a chance you should pick up one of his pieces. They are the most reasonbly priced custom knives around.

Hendrix knives are so fairly priced that I ordered 2 of them over 2 years ago. My ordered knives were simple semi skinner types with no guards. I am still waiting.
