I made this to be a back-country traveler's companion with a sturdy, beefy blade and a sculpted handle that fits my hand like a glove. I know some folks don't approve of natural Oak as a handle material, but I just love its natural textures, grain, and color.

Waypoint
Blade: 6 1/4" x 3/16" of clay coated W2 with a 1000 grit hand sanded finish, then etched and polished to highlight a cloudy hamon.

Handle: 5" of figured Red Oak with Bloodwood and Rosewood liners and two carbon fiber pins, and Rosewood bolsters with stainless steel pins. The butt end features a lanyard loop/glass breaker. The oak has a buffed tung oil finish.

Sheath: Lightly tooled 5/6 oz veg tanned leather fully lined with brain tanned deer hide, with a figured Red Oak inlay and a Rosewood frog. The leather has a buffed mink oil finish This sheath allows for either standard belt loop use or for sash-carry utilizing the frog.

Thanks for looking. Please leave me your comments and critiques.

Nice work, as always, with your distinctive styling.

A work of art. The blade, the handle and the incredible sheath.

I like the knife....but that sheath just blows me away. Everything from the wood inlay to the stitching to the wooden button. Wow.
