anybody got pics of how they carry their rats on their pack or similar gear?

I have a lot of trouble with the current way I am affixing the sheath (both standard and kydex). I simply use the cross over straps to fit through the beltloop and one over the actual sheath.

I would like to see if anybody has developed a clip or something that fits it to the underside of the pack(s) where the tie down points can usually be found for sleeping bags etc.

Any additional ideas would be great.

Gundy,

Perhaps a Malice Clip designed by Tactical Tailor will do the trick. It was originally designed to work with Molle gear.

The other option that comes to mind, is paracord.

From there things get a bit more complicated but not impossible.

A few years ago (Before college) when I had time for backpacking, I would use paracord through the eyelets vertically and thick "military" rubberbands horizontally to my pack strap.
Dont remember where I got the bands, but they were about 2" diameter and 1" across.
In all reality, the options are limited only to your imagination.:)
(BTW, a HR is on my wish list, this was another knife of an unknown make that took a fall down a canyon in Colorado due to a moron on the trip. I got his Cold Steel SRK out of the deal. Today I would rather have a Rat. Vastly superior from what I hear, see, and understand. All the ruckus cant be over nothin ;) )

Ranger bands such as you describe can be cut from bicycle inner tubes. Someone has pointed out that blown tubes may be available without charge from bike repair shops, because it can be more time & cost effective for the shop to simply replace blown tubes rather than patch up and reinstall the blown tubes.

Duct tape ;)

Andrew has a good point and I have a pack set up like this. I wrapped it excessicly with duct tape. The point is it will repair a torn tent, excellent emergency bandsage or splint, and countless other functions...... Hell why do you think mcgyver always carried it:D
