*Added info
Blade steel: CPM154
Blade Length: 3.75"
Handle: Titanium Frame lock
Hardware: Blued Titanium
First impressions:
1:This knife was lighter than I expected. This is a large knife, but it weighs about the same as my JYDII
2: Holy crap this thing is beefy! Regardless of the fact that it's not heavy, the blade is THICK. This thing has a blade that's every bit of .20, and probably more like .25. I don't have a caliper so i don't know exactly.
3. There's ZERO blade play. No side to side, not up and down. It locks in ROCK SOLID
4: Flipping required a bit of a wrist flip, but it was quite smooth
After a few hours of playing with it, i have managed to notice enough things to justify a review.
The Good
1: AWESOME blade. The shape and size is fantastic for anything you're likely to need in an EDC or defensive blade
2: After a very minor adjustment to the pivot tension, it flips easily enough...
3: Construction is unbelievably solid.
4: VERY early very solid lockup
5: The flipper acts as a very comfortable guard. This is personal preference, but i like it
6: Excellent Ergos. This knife feels like it was made for my hand.
7: The blade is a very nice, uniform brushed finish.
8: LOOK AT IT!! IT'S BEAUTIFUL!
The Bad: These are things that are mildly annoying but easily ignored or fixed
1: The thum stud is slightly loose, and will need to have loctite applied
2: The edge was not uniform. One side was more obtuse than the other. This has already been fixed
3: It was sharp, but not as sharp as i would have liked. It is now hair popping sharp.
The Ugly: These are flaws in design, or construction that cannot be fixed easily or at all
1: The bolster is very slightly out of alignment with the carbon fiber scale. This is a very minor misalignment, and does not affect ergos or appearance substantially. I would consider this to be a very minor negative.
* UPDATE: This turned out to be VERY easy to fix. I loosened the bolter screw, and pushed slightly. It fixed the problem completely. This makes this problem a "Bad". I have no "UGLY" to report.
These were the pictures i got from Will
It came with a nice little padded zippered case.
Very early lockup as you can see
Standoffs and Frame
Clip side. The clip is the same color as all the other hardware.
Here's a picture of the slight misalignment of the bolster. as you can see, it's about a MM out of alignment. Not a big issue.
And the requisite comparison picture to give an idea of scale
I am an amateur at this review thing, so if you have anything you'd like to see, please let me know.
