We all like high priced collector's knifes, however....

I recently purchased an Extreme Ops and Bullseye Smith & Wesson folding knives. I have to say both the design and quality were excellent. I do not consider them collector knives, but worthy of purchase. Please kindly let me know your experience and opinions. Also, I have had good experiences with CKRT folders as having good quality too, yet not collectible. I am not putting brands such as these in the same category as Spyderco or Benchmade, or more prestigious knives such as Sabenza. I know they are better brands and there are others much more collectible. Is it a "sin" to be a knife collecting afficionado and also have "low brow" knives in my collection?

Thanks for your kind input.

If you like them it's value to you, no one else. Me personally I try my hardest to only own US made knives, at least until I feel the value and quality is up to par, but I have high standards.

Yeah, I say if you like the design, quality, etc. Why not? Especially since you know the difference between CRK and CRKT. Previously I couldn't bring myself to buy anything below vg-10 (in edge holding and in a folder) but just purchased a benchmade vex for $25, it's only 8cr13mov steel, but it doesn't lose its edge after a couple uses like I was expecting, and it's build quality impressed me enough to order a BM monochrome (same price) since the BM redline is being discontinued anyway. Yeah they're not in the same class as my para mil or what I expect my M4 ritter or military to be in, but they're much nicer than expected and I really do like their design. (I actually like the thick, heavy liners of the Vex, even if it's my heaviest folder)

whatever floats your boat. it is not like anybody here will look down on the fact that you have some low cost knives. some if the CRKT and alike brands have some cool designs, but for me i like to buy American.

im in the same boat, i like my benchmade and other higher end knives but i have a 2 smith and wesson bullseyes... one plain edge and one partial serrations. ive edc'd the ps for almost 2 years before picking up the plain edge and both are still running strong. and when it comes to my pocket knives i beat the living *snot* out of them. i will say, the more you beat it though, the finish on the handle will start to wear off, but the blade finish has held nicely.

Ive been carrying the new plain edge version for about a month now and i cant seem to decide which i like better!
