WE Blade Width

How wide (apex to spine) does a blade have to be to work properly in the top setting on a Wicked Edge? I sharpened a William Henry B30 Gentac to 18 degrees per side in the top setting. Worked fine except the heel of the blade (near the pivot) did not get the exact same bevel as everywhere else. The stones hit the WE a little making it hard to get the bevel set all the way at down.

Overall it worked fine but I would imagine a knife with a blade width less that this WH would have issues.

I haven't tried it yet, but I think the Tormek Short Knife Holder Jig would allow one to get a shallower angle on a narrow blade on the WE. Especially if you reversed the knife in the jig. Might run into bevel width issues on a longer blade though. Something to look into certainly.
