Just wondering if anyone picked up a Charith at the latest blade show and can give a review...

Looks like it would make an awesome lite carry knife.

How does the Charith compare with the Shakan?
Can we see a side by side and maybe a description of the difference?

Good question. I've got a thread here about the Shakan being awesome. It's a small knife and a part of what makes it awesome is the ergonomics. The scales are wonderfully rounded. That does not seem to be the case with the Charith. However, the Charith does have one thing going for it. The blade is significantly thinner. Honestly, I feel like most WE knives have thicker blades than they need, even when comparing the common WE thickness of 0.13" versus the common Civivi thickness of 0.12". I think a lot of WE knives would be better with thinner blades in the 0.09"-0.12" range.

Here are some stats with the Charith values given first and the Shakan values given second. (I already wish they had just released the Shakan with a 0.1" blade.)

Overall Length: 6.99", 6.87"
Blade Length: 2.98", 2.97"
Blade Thickness: 0.1", 0.13"
Handle Thickness: 0.39", 0.4"
Width: 1.08", 1.11"
Knife Weight: 2.66oz, 2.63oz

I see three other differences: the Charith uses WE's usual deep-carry loop-over clip while the Shakan does not; the Charith has its fancy pattern on both sides while the Shakan does not, and the "ripple pattern" is aligned differently.

For an EDC, I definitely like a thinner blade stock. And I hadn’t noticed until you pointed out that the ripple/radius pattern is offset, which I dig WAY more than the drag frag pattern myself.
Thanks for all the comparative info! Helps to see it like that!

Wow - love the Charith. Got my Purple Ripple one in. Wish it wasn’t a limited edition Knife. May have to grab a black one.

Nice, I have the same one on the way. Post up a pic if you get the chance.
