I've had the Gent for 2 months now, the Deacon a few days.
My opinions on the Gent:
The good:
Great fit and finish, really well thought out design.
Great flipping action
Carbon fiber is very nice
Fits my hands pretty well
Love the look
CPM-S35VN is a great steel
Excellent value
Very light weight
The bad:
Lack of loctite on the pivot screw
Detent is very strong
The ugly:
While I like the aesthetic of the pivot being hidden, having to remove 4 screws to adjust is a pain.
WE Deacon
Though I just got it, it quickly is becoming my favorite. No knife is perfect, but this one nearly is IMO.
I wish it had a deep carry clip, and the butt was a little less pointy. Otherwise, this is the knife I'm looking for.
The fact that the blade is free from any kind of prominent marking is the whipped cream and nuts on top. (Don't like cherries).
If either of these knives are on your radar, don't hesitate.
