We have a new apprentice here at Fiddleback.
Allow me to introduce Jon Brumbaugh. Jon is down here from Jamestown, Ny. Jon has been here in shifts since the holidays. Splitting time with his family in New York and soaking in all he can here at the shop.

Jon is self taught in the art of forging and came down to get some help refining his knife making skills. He didn’t just pull our name out of the proverbially “hat” so to speak. He is a U.S Army veteran and was deployed to Iraq w/ Chris from OKT.

Here is the first knife he completed during his time here.

Hey, welcome Jon.
Jamestown huh? I've had family living there for over 40 years. My wife actually used to live there as well. The first time I met her was in Florida. Small world.

Good luck on your steel ventures. Looks like you have a knack for it.

Folks, it is a great source of pride to me to teach knifemaking. In this case its even more acute. John is a veteran, a friend of Chris', and really is going to be an outstanding knifemaker. I hope he will post some pictures of his first works, before coming here. There was a ton of potential in those knives, and this knife shown above seemed to come naturally to him from design to edge. Please welcome him to the forum and the community. And as always, thank you for your support! The knifemakers here love y'all.

Here is some of Jon's WIP's
The mini knife inspired the Magna-Karda
