Wanted to welcome nifrand to the Custom forum and I hope all will join me in supporting him here.

After 3 years, Blues and I thought it was time for some new blood and new ideas in here. Blues will continue to super moderate and I will be moving on to the Traditional forum.

Randy already has the respect of a lot of makers and collectors and I know we will enjoy having him here.

Thanks for all the support over the years. I plan to continue contributing and supporting nifrand and the Custom forum.

P.S. Blues and I are hanging in here until we get word from at least one other person who has been asked to mod the Custom forum.
 
As Gus mentioned, we had discussed with Spark (and staff) our desire to get an injection of new blood and enthusiasm into the forum and felt it was time for us to give others a chance to help direct and manage the forum.

No doubt that Randy will do a great job and we will leave the forum in good hands.

This will allow Gus to moderate the Traditional Knives forum ( a particular passion of his) and I will continue with my supermod duties.

Of course we will both continue to participate here as well.

It's been fun.

Best of luck Randy. We'll always be available if you need to call on us.

I'm sure that with all the knowledge that Randy has that he will do a great job aas moderator here on the Custom Forum. Randy is also a personable guy and that will go a long way.

Randy, I would like to offer you a hearty welcome as our newest moderator, you can count on my support.

you have done a good job with this place under difficult circumstances. i appreciate your efforts.

trying to keep the custom forum interesting while having to keep it "non-commercial".... coupled with a restriction on picture posting...is well...not an enviable task.

hopefully things will be loosened up a little for your successors.



the custom forum here did not introduce me to custom knives...but it certainly piqued my interest in them. i have met and interacted with many fine makers here because of this place. i bought a gold membership as a way of saying thanks.

my wish is that this place be allowed to be a little more "commercial". a place where makers can show off their new ideas and creations and collectors and users can show off their new treasures.

its become a little bland....that's too bad. i did not renew my membership because of that reason. make it a little less restrictive and i will.....
 
Gus and Blues, you guys do a thankless and very awesome job. Was kinda hoping for Tim Herman(jk;)) but Randy is a good and knowledgable guy and I'm sure he'll be an asset.
 
Gus and Blues definately do a great job with the hand they have been dealt. I know I couldn't handle this job. It's like being a referee at a sporting event. No matter what call you make, one side is always going to hate you. Even if the call is 100% correct. Glad to see Gus moving on to the traditional forums where his real passion lies.

The best thing about giving the job to Randy is that they didn't offer it to me. I would have gone homocidal on some of you crying and whining free commercial space grabbing scrotum licking toads :D
