I'm sad to report that a highly localized form of armageddon hit; my copy of Prince's greatest hit--including "1999"-- somehow disappeared as if it was irrelevant. Instead of four horsemen, there were a couple of dust bunnies and a bottle cap left in its wake.
We will all mourn the passing.

PS anyone notice that Peter Jennings cut Babs (Barbra Streisand for the uninformed) off after 30 seconds, but let Elton John play all of "Candle In the Wind"... hmmmm....
