Anyone else think a 3/16 inch thick 5 inch blade length izula would be awesome:thumbup:
Same shape and grind just longer and thicker and maybe wider blade
I dont like choils and esee 5 is too thick and heavy
Non skeletonized

I laughed at the thread title.

In other words, a skeleton/skeletonized ESEE-5? It would be such a heavy knife to be skeleltonized

I'd buy it if the price was right.

I think he's mostly referring to the shape and no choil. I submitted a similar design in that thread some time ago.

I'd love to see a 5 inch ESEE with no choil and not quite as thick or heavy as the ESEE-5.

Two thumbs up from me!

Love that blade shape. I'd like to see one, but I'd keep the pinkie ring on the end of the handle.

Whoops, you're right. No choil and not as thick.
Good design there

Thanks guys. I would change a couple of things now that some time has past since I first drew it up. I'd eliminate the hollow handle and pry pommel (leave those things to RYP's designs!) and I'd make it 3/16 thick, not a 1/4 inch.

But I like that shape, very simple and very functional, just like the Izula!

If you had the girth of a 5 as a neck knife... I think chiropractors would start to love ESEE... ;)

Cant see joes picture but I was thinking of a non skeletonized version like the rest of the esee/rats and with Canvas Micarta

By the way how do esee knives look without scales? I assume they arent skeletonized

You would be correct. They just have holes drilled for the scales to be attached and the lanyard hole at the end.

I've always thought an 5 inch choilless ESEE with a thinner blade would be awesome too. For me, a 5 inch blade is just about perfect for an all around woods bumming blade but the RC 5 is just too massive to carry around all the time IMO.

Yes, I would buy this. I've wanted a 5" blade that is thinner and with a more comfortable handle than the ESEE 5. This knife would be perfect at 3/16" and the design looks really functional. I'll take it!

I would jump on something like this so quick I'd be a "blur"..... :D

In addition, I would also go for one like that with a rounded off handle, left the same length... just rounded off with a thong hole added; and a 3.5 - 3.75 inch blade..... a bit thinner than .250 though. :)
I'd be a "double blur" on this one.... light speed. ;)

Both of those would be sweet... as are the rest of the ESEE's... and would make a nice addition to the line, and/or alternative for those who dislike the choil.

Just an opinion, nothing more......... ;)
