This post is to keep you informed about what
is happening with HI. Power shortages at the shop
continue to plague us and that is making it difficult
to get your orders finished.

Besides the power shortages, our Kami Lok and Vim both are
seriously ill with health problems. Vim cannot make the big,
heavy knife anymore. If and when he gets better he will make
a few small knives.

Rajkum Kami took off a month ago and went to Dharan. He
is making jewelry at his brother-in-law's shop and we do not
know when he will return to work at HI.

I am still running late on all special order items for both the
forum and the online store. Because of the current situation
in Nepal I know we will get further delays on all order items.

Thank you all for your patience.

No problem Aunti! Thanks for the update. I myself will continue to do all I can to support the Kamis and make it attractive for them to stay (like buying T-shirts). I certainly hope Vim and Loc get better! Smoke up guys for a speedy recovery!

Sorry to hear about all the problems. I think it was a good idea to post the update here for the newcomers or people with special orders.

Best of luck with everything Auntie

Being fairly new here, I have spent a lot of time reading all the old posts I can to get an understanding of what makes this forum what it is to the people who are members. From what I have read on the boards I think it was a great idea letting everyone know what is going on. You have built quite a lot of good will with the board members here and I am positive that now they understand the issues there will be a lot of positive wishes, prayers and support and of course the all important patience. Owning a HI offers much more than just purchasing a knife. It comes with the past history and the future hopes of all of the members of HI's significant extended family. Keeping us all informed of the problems so that we can understand the issues helps keep the family feel and allows us the opportunity to offer our support.
Thank you

Welcome Shavru! Thanks for joinig us here! Look forward to hearing more from ya! There really is a lot of goodwill going around here and feel free to add yours.

Thank you for the welcome folks. I look forward to being able to acquire some beautiful HI products as soon as my budget allows. Supporting a company that has the goals and business practices that HI has is a great thing, and when it comes with the benefit of acquiring these wonderful knives it just makes it feel like an easy choice.

This is rather sad. I wish you luck aunty and send my smoke and prayers. I am sorry that it is not much...

I'm generally not much for patience, just not one of my strong suits, actually I don't really have any strong suits but when it comes to HI and especially Auntie, I'll be patient and more than willing to do anything at all I can do to help HI and the Kami's and Auntie.

I love this place and I love these khukri's. And that's all I got to say about that, cept for smoke and prayers for Vim and Lok, hope they get back 100% soon.

I'm sorry to hear about Lok and Vim's health problems, and the effect of the power outages on the shop.

Please let all the kamis know that we send our regards.

How much power do we need?
Just a few solar cells for some lights and a drill or two during daylight? Or maybe a gasoline generator big enough to power an electrical forge? If everybody contributes a bit maybe we can solve this and make HI a bit more independent from the local grid.

Sorry to hear about the kami health problems and other shop problems. Wishing I had more to offer besides smoke and prayers (and patience!)

Tks for the update auntie Yangdu. Hope both of the kamis will get well soon . We are all behind u !

Agreed...I'm down with Jens suggestion.

Thank you all for your good thoughts, wishes, prayers, donation and continue supports to HI and Kamis.
