I am new to the forum and just started recollecting knives. I have recently purchased some knives made in China, CIVIVI, Kizer, etc.
I have decided not to purchase any knife made in China. I know this causes limits on selection and affects price. There are knives made in USA and other countries. I intend to support them and not support a country that has cause this mess we are in now. What do you think?

I think this belongs in the Political Arena, or perhaps W&C.

I love my Taichung Spydies.

tl,dr; but I agree. I haven't used a chine in at least 35-40 yrs (to the best of my knowledge); so I'm going to stop buying chines.
Thank you! I should have thought to stop myself years ago...

My interest isn't political. It's supporting manufacturers in US and other countries affected. Example - Italy.

I didn't accuse you of political interests. I fully support your recommendation, and have decided not to buy another chine...well, at least not until I have a definite need for one; and only then if I can't find any of the chines that I've foolishly purchased over the years.

But, one question, if I may. This is a knife forum...why are we discussing chines? Maybe I'm missing something; but I didn't think they were knife related

You consider Taiwan part of China?

They constantly contend with that issue...

Personally I don't have issue with Tiwanese products as they have been struggling for true independence from China for quite a while now.
Yes I will by Tiwanese. I should have mentioned this......again this is a supporting countries including our own.

Welcome to the forums Bill.

Spend your money however you want.

I can't remember the last time I bought a knife from China but that could change in the future. There is nothing from China I have my eyes on. My last few purchases were from Taiwan, Sweden (never enough Moras), US, and Italy.

There's a ton of typos in this thread...

I don't care much where a product is made, but I do seem to purchase mostly from US or Japanese makers.

I think this has come up before. It is difficult to draw the line when purchasing goods and not have anything to do with China as the device you probably used to type your post on was made in China.

o_O Recently observed a bunch of MAGA emblazoned stuff ...all made in China ?!:(

If you don't want to consume Chinese products then you need to stop consuming period.

Personally I live on the Bangood website snapping up deals on all sorts of shit.

Gotta admit here, my consumer buying needs overide my politics every dam day.

lol, wat? Are you suggesting that China intentionally created the virus? There are no facts to support that conspiracy.

If you are upset by the current situation...you should be angry at the incompetent leadership that has still not utilized the Defense Production Act to mandate the mass production of testing & other essential equipment.

Any other functioning adult would have enacted this policy MONTHS ago. Then again, most functioning adults wouldn’t risk American lives because the data would make them look bad.
