Being somewhat lazy I added a few drops of oil to the pivot, worked it back and forth and snap is restored to about 75% of new, which is fine for me.
I would also recommend cleaning and oiling the back spring. Lot's of gunk, pocket lent etc. works its way between the spring and brass frame adding friction to the closing action. Open the blade half way and clean with a q-tip or pipe cleaner followed by oil.
Nice knife.
That would be a great spa candidate. She’d be like new when you got her back.
I try to do that too, when I let it snap closed I usually get dings on the blade from the back spacer. Jeff recommends fully depressing the back lock when closing to avoid premature wear on the pivot.Huh. I never noticed/knew that the 110 blade snaps closed the last 30 or so degrees.
I've always fully closed them manually.
There is a spring under that lock bar and it is entirely possible that it is weak. It happens; though not commonly on the 110, I do not think. I would send the knife to Buck and ask them to fix it.
Spend 2 minutes to wash, dry and oil and it’ll be 100%Being somewhat lazy I added a few drops of oil to the pivot, worked it back and forth and snap is restored to about 75% of new, which is fine for me.
