I just got a ZT 0560BW. Absolutely love the knife, the only problem I have noticed, is it has a weak detent.
When the Knife is closed I can shake it open with little effort, Has anyone else noticed this too. Is there a fix or upgrade available.
Thought i would ask here, and hope for some good info.

Thanks

My only problem with returning it is, I worked hard to get a really nice edge, and have become rather attached to it.
It just fits so nice in pocket, I would hate to go without it for any length of time. I know some of you understand my conundrum.
I would love to get a 0562CF but not possible yet.

With the knife closed, can you push the lock bar in further towards the blade and set the detent in deeper? Shouldn't take much effort if the detent ball and hole are slightly misaligned.

Take the knife apart and bend the lock bar in some so the lock bar has more pressure. A few millimeters can make a world of difference. There are tons of videos on YouTube of doing this if you aren't familiar with the process.

Sorry for your poop luck. Do this if you really want to keep it. Easy does it if you are not sure what you are doing. Or investigate the detent on yours to see it the ball is sitting deep in the hole or not. Or dont and just send it in for one that does not have a detent issue.
Also make sure that the pivot is not too loose. I am finishing up a 0561 now that had the same issue when I got it. It was locktited in a position that was not tight enough.

Thanks for all the ideas. Scurvy, I pushed on the lock bar, but has almost no movement. Funny part is the detent worked fine out of the box. The lock up is about 60% and nice and tight. couple hundred flicks, and two weeks carry, and the detent has become noticeably weaker.
Could the ball be sticking, or wearing with this small amount of use. not sure how tweaking the lock bar would help, if there is no movement when pressing in on it.

Thanks again for the help...

If you aren't comfortable with working on the lock bar, a bunch of different people here will. If you want to send it to me I can see if I can tweak it. I had to dial in the lock bar on my Domino, 801, 550, 551, and even a bunch of liner locks. I took my Bionic from a finger ripping detent to just a little stiff, my Murdock from no detent to perfect. Modifying the lock bar sounds scary at first, but once you learn the ropes it takes minutes tops to do.
