i have a Queen mountain man lockback in 1095 and stag. when closed, the blade will not fall open, but it can be opened with a very light grip. it locks in place solidly and passes a gentle to moderate spine whack test. is it usual for a lockback to open so easily ? is this a sign of a weak spring ? if so, does this mean the lockback is not as solid as it should be ?
i have other Queen's (non locking) with weak springs. those blades open and CLOSE with minimal pressure. in comparison, all my Cases have strong reassuring springs.

i'm sorry but i don't have experience with these knives...

you may get better results over in the traditional fixed and folding knives forums

would the moderator consider moving my post to Traditional Folders forum ?
may get more response there. thank you, roland

I've the same knife, and mine is normal when it comes to tension. You may want to try cleaning the pivot- sometimes crud makes the detent a bit weak.
