Hi. I bought my inkosi directly from bladehq last year and have opened it to clean and tune it up twice since then. Is this amount of wear and tear on the pivot screw normal? I only used the provided equipment. Kinda hard to get a great photo, but this is what I got.
Thx

Hard to tell what the wear is there. The hex pocket shouldn’t appreciably wear throughout the life of the knife.

The macro function isn't wonderful on my phone. It does seem to be beginning to strip. I have reached out to Chris Reeves help and will see what happens.

Whatever hex you use, make sure it fits well and seats all the way to the bottom of the pivot (or screws). Occasionally there might be a burr or something on the tip of the wrench that prevents full seating.

Off-the-shelf Bondhus and Wiha have always worked well for me. Oddly, I think the ones CRK includes are Bondhus and I’ve had at least two bad ones come straight out of the CRK box. Maybe it has something to do with the chrome.

Anyhow, if your pivot is buggered up, you can by new ones on the CRK website.

After over fifty years of mechanical repair . May i make a few suggestions. First off if its a allen or a torx.
Make sure it is the right size . Second clean the hole of all dirt . This is very important!
Lastly i always lightly tap the bit to set it . And i agree wiha are about as good as it gets today .
Last resort send it home and ask for extra set .

Good advise right here!

I would like to ad that if the bit starts giving issues, get a new one. Even if it is a Wiha. Just get a new one.

Learned this the hard lesson after someone borrowed mine l, damaged it and when I wanted to use it again stripped T6 screws because the driver was damaged and did not grab properly.
