Got this honey Friday, it was broken in by Sunday and is so smooth you would think the blade would be loose. It isn't, solid. I've had other Benchmade in years past and I don't remember them being so easy to open/close. They were larger of course, I gave them all to a relative who is way younger and had more use than I would.
I just open and close like a idiot.:D will this wear it out?
The size and weight are great but the blade shape is super.

The only thing that might wear out are the omega springs. If that happens, send it in to benchmade and they will make your knife like new again.

We remind ourselves that even though these are production knives, they're assembled by hand. So no two are exactly alike in tolerances, pivot adjustment and the rest. Being backed by an amazing warranty I'd say flip away - but if there's a problem from all the flipping, just about the only thing that can break are the Omega springs, and that's easily repaired. You might grab a T-10 torx driver and adjust the pivot tension to your liking, the resulting sweet spot can often be really small.

Yeah, you might go blind you do it all the time ;)

Seriously, Benchmade is tough. Personally, I don't grab the handle and flip out the blade by itself. I flick open with thumb stud.

There's something about Aluminum and an Axis lock, makes for a smooth flicker! I'd say my 94xs have been a bit smoother than the 707, think it has to do with a little bit more blade = more inertia, but dang are they smooooth:cool:

No doubt the 707 is buttery smooth. Barely a movement of the middle finger against the thumb stud and it flies out.

I have two 710s, one an original year issue and one a trainer, that have had several zillion cycles on them - no detectable wear. Go ahead and fear not.
