Thinking seriously about getting a Necker. Is the sheath set up for belt wear ?

From the pics of the sheath I cant tell. What do I need to get or buy to wear

the sheath in different locked or secure positions on my belt?

Will a teck lock work? What grind is on the blade?

Thanx

I just looped some 550 cord through the holes and horizontal carry on my belt. works very well for me. I know you can get a belt clip for it also for around 10 bucks. not sure about the TL .

The clips are difficult to find in stock. You could try out the paracord for fit to see if you like it before tracking down a dealer with the clip in stock. The clip is inexpensive but then you'll pay as much for the shipping as the clip itself. So total cost will be around $20.

I picked up a belt clip from a leather place. I plan to rivet it to a plastic plate which i'll screw ( with chicago screws) to the supplied sheath. I'm still looking for a good plastic plate to make it work. When done, it should slip right on my belt. I may consider using a piece of heavy leather instead.

I highly suggest using paracord to make your own belt loops! I wear it vertically for work and pocket for edc, very effective way to carry no need for the $10 clip that can get your almost 150 ft of paracord.

i wove the paracord through the holes in the sheath and thread my belt through. side first then bottom edge. it wears about 30 degrees from horizontal, handle forward, cross draw. works great.

I use 2 paracord loops, and wear it just left of my belt buckle, horizontally.
I'm a college student, and needed to carry it VERY discreetly, so this works well.

Same here, except I'm not a student. Wears very well, I've gotten used to it in only a couple weeks.

Any pics of the way you all did the belt loops?

I know I haven't posted in this thread yet but here is how I did mine. X across one side and horizontal loops on the other.

Can be worn left side with the sheath against the body, using the X, right side sheath out, or horizontal on the back for right hand.

edit: let me know if the images are too large I will resize.

I took the clip off my small TDI LE and used it on the BK11, and now use the LE as a neck knife.

another option would be to call CRKS and ask them to make a sheath for you. it cost me $30 and it came with a tek-lok. really nice! Also if you have the micarta handles make sure to tell them cause I forgot and had to reshape it in the oven. Still good though.

Kabar makes a separate belt clip for their TDI knives that fits perfectly on the Bk11 sheath. Search 'TDI belt clip'. Trust me, it's a beauty.

THose of you that wear it HOrizontal on belt. Do you find handle sticking out too much.

Nope, it's hardly noticeable to me. Very comfortable knowing it's there on a daily basis (when not at work).

I did something similar with mine. I hiked about 4 miles yesterday with it, rides very well. As for horizontal carry it depends on where your belt loops are and your belt buckle. Sometimes I can't find a good spot. Think about it with one piece of paracord you can Vertical belt carry / horizontal belt carry, neck carry. probably make a shoulder harness if you want. Not to mention all the other things that can be done with a length of paracord. I put two "ranger bands" on my sheath under the paracord. they help hold the sheath in place and I have them if I need them some day.

Another vote for the paracord belt loops. I wear it horizontally on my front left (crossdraw), and barely notice it when I am hiking or whatever. That's the best option I've found, because it stays out of the way of my pack, and it's right where I need it.

I have been using this setup for a while and it has worked well for me so far... All you need to do it is 2 short pieces of paracord and a lighter (although I use a torch)... It works best if you use the smaller holes in the sheath. The belt in the photos is 1.5 inches wide.

Paracord belt loops here too. I'd rather wear my necker on my neck but it works fine on the belt. I use paracord loops for my BK-2 too.
