I've been living in Oregon almost 30 years now. One of the saying's here is, if you don't like the weather wait 30 minutes and it will change. At this same period of time last year we had temps in the low 70's. We've had light snow two days in a row now with more in the forcast. How's things going in other parts of the country?

Ice storm here in Ottawa yesterday. Not a bad one though, it's already melting. Winters seem to be getting milder here, and in St. Paul, MN, where I recently moved from. I remember, a couple of years ago in St. Paul, we had 75 degree weather for about a week in early Feb! It was a nice break from the cold, but spring ended up long, cold and wet.

Sunday we had 30*F and three inches of snow. By Wednesday night we had 60*F, and hail followed by 4 hours of thunderstorms and a day's rain that totalled 1". Today it's beautifully sunny and high 40's. It's supposed be down below freezing again and snow Monday. Can we say "seesaw"?:)

Ray, they say the same thing here about "wait 30 minutes..."

Since I lost my hay stash from the fire I've had to go every couple weeks and get hay. I head ruffly 14 miles east of me. Today was the day to get more hay or tell the cows to just drink water. I decided to go. After leaving my place I was thinking maybe telling the cows to drink water would have been the better option. Went threw rain snow mix on the way. The last few miles it was close to white out. No chains or snow tires. Missed the turn I needed to take because the snow had pulled the tree branches down infront of the sign I needed to see. Went about another mile till I found a place to turn around hoping I wouldn't get stuck. Made it halfway up the driveway I needed to take before I spun out. Luckly Dan was able to haul the hay down to me and I made it home. Do I get a mow mow from the cows in appreciation? I do believe they think I'm the hay fairy.

I suppose you forged the tire chains into a blade, huh?
Might be a good idea to carry some with you up there.
Hay fairy...:D LMAO
Take care.

It's been real nice and spring-like here for the last two or three weeks. Today it got to ~40° and snowed off and on all day. March is here. It snowed hard most of the day in Durango and they got three feet on Wolf Creek Pass and forcast two feet for Telluride tonight.

It's supposed to snow all night and through the day on Saturday.

When it's springtime in the Rockies....

got about 4" of snow yesterday and it's in the 50's today
I don't think we've had a foot built up at any one time this winter
that's not Maine for you.. I think it was two years ago we had two 14" storms in March alone..they say the whole country is way off this year..but deer hunting should be real good this year they've had it easy, they're all over the place eating the grass they can find in the fields..if they keep eating my hedges a few of them won't make it to hunting season:grumpy: ;)

I have always believed that trading plant material for venison was only fair...
