Well, we finally had a good snowstorm here in Vermont. First one in a couple of years. Nothing like those poor folks in Oswego NY (10 FEET of snow in two weeks) but we got in excess of two feet in about 24 hours.

Nothing major happened to my family, although I did miss about a full day of work total since I live 20 miles from the office and didn't dare to chance staying all day yesterday and got in late today.

Hope everyone is okay. Although blizzards can be bad if you are trying to travel, if you are at home, they aren't like a hurrican, tornado, earthquake, etc.

First "real" snow of the season. Looks like a few inches out there ... No fun to walk in, but not enough to be a problem. The cold is more of a problem and that's yoyoing up and down around freezing.

We've been really, really lucky here in the southern part of my state. Go just 30 or 40 miles north and they got dumped on tuesday. We got maybe an inch or two.
I was talking with my buddy tuesday night who lives in Detroit. He said he couldn't even see his truck parked in his driveway it was so deep outside. I quipped that it was actually fairly difficult to see the blades of dead grass in my backyard the snow was so "deep":D:p He was not amused, because he's originally from around here.
However, we deal with snow and ice differently here...we don't. If we get a dusting or a little ice the schools are closed or at least on a 2 hour delay. Actually, the roads were slick enough yesterday that the city schools were closed...which my wife works for. Our subdivision was fairly icy so I said to heck with it and just left the office closed to spend the holiday at home with my honey.
OK, I got my day off work (would have liked for it to be a friday or monday). It can warm up to 60+ degrees now so that business will pick up.

Jake

I think our heavy snows are done for the year. The worst I saw was in Kabul. Started snowing the afternoon of 24 Dec, and stopped sometime the night of the 26/morning of the 27.
