I just picked up the Bucklite II (I really like this little knife) I wish Buck would make a large version just like it, no not the bucklite Max a large version with the same handle material, just like the bucklite II.

I also got the 110 with nickel silver bolsters and well my mind is spinning now. Hey Buck we need more 110 variations on the Web specials, how about a 110 with either S30V Blade or CPM 154 and Nickel Silver bolsters with Red Paperstone slabs? You could do a version of all the Paperstone colors Buck currently has please just use Nickel Silver Bolsters.

Off to a night shift!

Have you checked out the Ecolite 110?

I love my Ecolite 112's handle. Just love it. Given an Ecolite and a Bucklite II, there would be no question in my mind which *I* would prefer. The Ecolite by a mile. YMMV, of course.

If buck made a large version of the Bucklite II with that handle design and feel that the Bucklite II has woulld be awesome. I plan on getting a paperstone ecolite 110 some day but I would like buck to use it on their 110's with some nickel bolsters. Red Plum paperstone would look great with nickel silver bolsters. The other good point is buck has all this on hand and could do this pretty easy I think.

Which did you get the 444 or the 442? The 442 is the size of the 112 and is a nice fit in the hand also.

It's the 444, I think I like the way the handle is made, it has great texture and shape but If Buck made a larger version just like it would be perfect. I think the 444 is the same size as an Esquire.

Yes it is the same blade as the 501. I have a few and really like the profile. Try the 442 it is much larger than the 444, the same size as the 112, but not quite as big as the 110.

I found some pics here of the 442, looks great, I guess it would have to be a second hand or ebay find to get one, they are no longer made right?

No it's no longer made and neither is the 444, to my knowledge. The 484 and 486 took their place. I just got a 442 nib cheap recently, they arn't hard to find on the bay.

There is one for sale nib here in the buck knives for sale thread for a reasonable price by Caseguy.

There has been a glut of 2004 442 available recently if you are trolling. I picked up 2 within the last year. I argree with the OP and prefer that larger 442.

Thanks for adding this great pic, I am picking one up soon from a member, I hope to have it in a week or so. I am really looking forward to the 442.

IMO, the 442 has the nicest general purpose blade for EDC. Drop point. Full belly. Just enough length. No flipper studs or holes to fill up with gunk. No mall ninja double edge. Graceful lines. Even better than the 500 for beauty.

Here's one in an Ecolite frame.

IMO, Buck should put these into production.
