web specials

Cool but where are they? There are the same 25 that were there early this morning. I am just happy to see & buy some new ones, but I do not see them on the web special page at Buck???

He was probably just indicating that he wasn't very excited by the deals on the web specials.

Doubt that he meant any offense.

I wasn't real excited about them either.....was hoping the new ones would be a little more "special."

But I'm the kinda guy that looks for $20 Founder's Edition 110s on Amazon, so there's probably no hope for me.

;)

On second glance you may be correct. So much gets lost with just words on a board...all is well.

Well lets put this into perspective from my point of view. A lot of the folks who are here are collectors and are hoping for things on par with the G bone 532. A few of the folks who are here are users and will be happy with the 154 Alpha's.

I just looked at Cableas & Bass pro to compair prices on the Dorado & Mini Alpha's.
The Buck web price for a 154 Mini is $60. (Cableas S30V AG is $100, and BP $70 for 420, $120 for 154)
The Buck web price for a 154 Dorado is $50. (Cableas 420 is $60, AT-34 is $65, and BP 420 is $70, 154 is $100)

So the Buck web special is a great deal if you are looking for that type of knife. The folks at Buck can't always offer the G bone 532 type collector specials to us. We can always wait for the next web page up-date if we don't see what floats our boat this time. Ducky thanks for the heads up that new knives were on the site!

It might not hurt for Buck to add an "Average Web Price" indicator to their specials so those not in the know could see that they are indeed some significant discounts as compared to other sellers.

There ARE some very nice knives on that page.

I really dont see anything exciting,I am disappointed.I was hoping for some stag or horn handles like last year.I love my elk handeled 112.

Hi Duck -

I picked up one of the laser cut 110's ($35 - only 5 more than walmart and no tax!) and a sirus just to see what the ASAP is about, and for $30, that took me over the $50 threshold to avoid $9 shipping - so it really only cost $21 the way I see it.

I guess I am hooked - I'll be watching the web specials now lol....

best regards -

Every time I've bought something direct from Buck, web special or whatever, I've been charged tax. could it be because of them still having some kind of presence in California where I live??

Yes Dave,

Some of the custom work is still done in CA. I know it sucks to pay the extra tax when the plant is in Idaho:rolleyes:

Hi Plumberdv -

The way I understand it, if the company has any facilities in the state where you live, they are required by (oppressive) tax law to charge you state tax.

Since many places deal out of Chicago, I get charged tax on many things I would not have otherwise thought I would.....
