How about a area being set up or designated where members can post regarding current knife sales that they have run across on the web. For instance one of the major web retailers, a Knifeforums member, is currently clearance selling the last of his Bradley balisongs at what I believe to be excellent prices. He also has an excellent sales price on one model of the Kershaw Blur.

Both might be of interest to members but per my understanding of group rules these cannot be posted about.

Your understanding is correct as far as it goes. Non-member dealers are not allowed to advertise here. That includes members advertising for them by posting "deals". Why should Spark set aside a special area to advertise dealers that contribute nothing to this forum?

In this case the dealer is a group member per the dealers list. As for other dealers it seems to me that bargain prices are good for members to know about whether or not it also happens to benefit a non-member dealer.

We've had problems with vendors deliberately using fake accounts / non-paying members to promote their website(s) and had to put those rules in place.
