I am the editor of a new (only got online three days back!)website dedicated to knifemaking techniques. This is a South African website, so there is a slight bias towards African materials.
It used to sit on my own website, but the format did not match so I transfered all the information over to www.blades.web.za
So, if you have some oryx or gnu horn or a piece of giraffe bone and you have no idea what to do with it, visit RSA Blades.
Any and all contribitions in the form of photos, ideas, feedback, letters, usefull links, questions (and answers to other maker's questions) will be welcome.
This is a non profit site for knifemakers by knifemakers.

Thanks you!
I hope the site will help out a lot of folks and provide a venue for free exchage of ideas.

Thanks to all the guys who took the time to visit the site and sent me encouraging feedback.

Thanks to John Ownby who contributed a lovely picture of a bowie and two articles on knifemaking tips. These will be available on 14 May 2001, at 14h00 GMT

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Thanks.
A note: Please remember to refresh the pages you have visited as new stuff is constantly being added. I made myself some engraving chisels and a chasing hammer this morning. (You have no idea how difficult it is to find these things). I forged the hammer from a 1 1/4 inch rod. So I wrote a little description on how to forge these items and added them as well.
The easiest way is to go to the contents page and just refresh that. Then it is no problem finding what you are looking for.
