Website hosting

Hope this is not another overly asked question like my last one.
I tried a search on this site but got a "page cannot be displayed" message.
I would like to host a website but an internet search lands you in a maze. I think the best way to go is by word of mouth so can anyone point me in the right direction? I obviously want inexpensive but it must be worthwhile.

If your looking for a website host, I can think of none better than Atlanta Virtual. Alex Whetsell owns/operates it, and is a "knife" person himself. My site has been hosted there for the last few years, and I have nothing but good things to say about Atlanta Virtual.
